Benefit Update
Chick-fil-A has agreed to donate 20% of all sales from noon-4pm on Saturday, July 12th to the Something for Sarah benefit. This is good at the Towne Mall location only. I have heard that a few other businesses will be doing this after the benefit. I will post the times/dates/locations when I have them.
It is difficult to prepare yourself for this kind of life changing event. I am not sure exactly how other than lots of prayer for Sarah and the surgeon and his staff. I know that afterwards I will be focusing on the job at hand, which is to get Sarah back on her feet and home. I know there will be times of weakness and self pity, but Kim and I will do our best to keep that at a minimum. Sarah is just concentrating on getting her puppy. That seems to be enough of a carrot to get her through this.
People ask us a lot if there is anything they can do the day of the surgery and the only answer I ever have is “just pray”. I honestly don’t know of anything else we need on Friday. I just feel that there is a plan in place and it will be revealed to us this Friday. There is more than the obvious testimony here. I hope one day soon I can make it available for everyone to read.
I am sad about missing the first week of church with our new pastor.

Sarah is such a sweet little girl, and I’ve never met her, but I know that she is. Rasmussen’s seems to only pick on the sweet ones (Jessie, Addie Kaye, Noah, Cameron) I know that you are so proud of her and I know that you are so scared right now. I know that no one can fully understand what you are going through….something that no parent should have to endure. But you love her and you know that you are doing the right thing for her.
God Bless You and help you through these next two days, and the days following surgery. Please let us know if there is anyting that we can do.

Hi guys,
I know that you are extremely busy getting ready for surgery. But if you get a chance, please film Sarah’s EPC. I taped Jessie’s and put it on YouTube, so that others could see what it is like in case they are seeing similar symptoms. When Jessie was going through it, there was nothing to look at and compare. I wish that there had been.
God has a plan for these kids, a very special plan, and I can’t wait to see what it is. I firmly believe that. - Cris

Hello to Sarah’s family! I am a friend of Jessie Hall’s. I wanted to let you know that there are many people who will be praying for your family and for Sarah. I believe in the power of prayer and I know that it matters. It is the only thing we can do. We have just walked down this same path with the Hall family. I am so glad you are letting others into your life right now because they will help carry your burden for you.
If you would please send me your daughters hospital address, and her whole name, I will send it out to a number of people who have said they would like to send out cards to those children going through a hemispherectomy. Some are even sending care packages to those children recovering from their hemi’s as well.
We will keep you in our hearts and in our prayers. God will be very near you at this time! I know He will!

We are heading for our Disney trip tommorrow but you guys will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Although we have not had our surgery yet, we understand.
