A Set Back and Happy Birthday

Sarah’s MRI shows that there was a connection in her frontal lobe that was missed. That would explain the seizures. The surgeon wants to go back in as soon as he can to take care of it. We are hoping for this Friday. There is a lot of anxiety surrounding this surgery. We really hate for Sarah to start over in a sense in her recovery. They think that she should come out of the surgery in the same condition she is in now, but there is always the possibility that the connection that wasn’t cut is why she was able to speak so well after the hemispherectomy. Please pray that is not the case. She will get backed up on her target release date, but as I was reminded last evening by some friends in our community, the Lord will never give you more than you can handle.

Today is Sarah’s birthday. She is seven years old today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sweet Sarah! I absolutely LOVED getting to visit with you yesterday. Your smile is all I have been able to think about since we left. God is watcing over you, I know it. Although recent news from the doctors is not what anyone wants to hear, take it as a blessing. At least now they are confident in knowing exactly WHERE the seizures are coming from. Although no one wants you to have to face yet another surgery, just keep in mind that God is leading these doctors and that He is keeping YOU in His care. I hate that you have been put through so much already, Dear One. You are definitely a fighter and probably stronger than most adults I know. I feel blessed by just knowing you and look forward to singing with you again at church when this is all over. You are on my mind and in my prayers constantly… and in my heart for always.
Love to you and your whole family,
    Becky

Happy Birthday! I can’t believe you are 7 already! Seems like just last week you were in the nursery at church and I was your “teacher”. You are such a lovely young lady. As you know God is watching over you. He will help Mom and Dad be strong too. I am sorry to hear that you have to have another surgery, but let’s pray that this is the last one and that all will be good. Keep up the good work!
    Love-Marla

I know this was one of the possibilities that our surgeon mentioned too. I’m so sorry she has to go through another surgery, but hopefully this will sever the seizures’ ability to break through and she will be seizure free. We’re thinking of you up here in Boston!

    Hi,

I put my original message on the wrong page, so here we go again. We are friends of Sarah’s grandparents, Jeff and Loretta. Just wanted to let you know that our church family will be in prayer for Sarah. We sent the message through our prayer chain so as many as possible could know.

    In Christ,

    Jim and Pat Baker
